I wonder if you could make a variation of the mobile player template. I have a site that has 1500 videos, (approx 250GB) This is an archival site of historical sports footage.
The files are .flv, but they are h.264 mp4 files. I bulk renamed the files all to .flv to be able to work with the Mass Uploader and modified the ConvertorV3 file to bypass transcoding. JW pro player 5.4 installed in the V3.5 template, and it looks great.
The problem is, as you can imagine, flv files will not play on iPhone.
Instead of duplicating the files and transcoding the videos, I imagine two possibilities. A) a JW player in the mobile template ( I think the reason my files do not play on the iphone is that I have the .js set wrong, or B) the convertor file could be set to be called out on a mobile play request and then either duplicate the file and change the extension to .mp4, or just add the mp4 to the path as a proxy.
I do not know how to pull this off, but wonder if you can.
